Hi Dr. Mike,

Thanks for sharing what goes totally contrary to the "acceptance and adoption strategy" of other physician practices. We're hoping to work with a group of 350 providers and I'd like to chat with you. What you accomplished is awesome and the word needs to get out that there is a better way to get docs onboard with EMR.

Bravo! You got this exactly right. Every EMR vendor should be touting a similar approach. But as you noted, at the moment this isn't yet the "conventional implementation plan".

Your approach is both reasonable and consistent with the most successful implementations. The evidence is there for those that do their homework.

Thanks for the valuable anecdote!

Thank you for this post! As an HIT student, this method of implementation and timing makes very good common sense.

Every healthcare provider should switch to an EMR solution. Paper based records and prescriptions are a thing of the past now and it would be best for both doctors and patients to take advantage of their features and accessibility.

Many health care practitioners are still reluctant to implement electronic medical records (EMRs) despite increasing evidence of their benefits to practices and patients as well as significant financial incentives from the federal government—but the following five myths should not be among your reasons for reluctance.
